Four reasons why you should hold on to God as a single or married

This morning, I want to give you four reasons why you should never give up on God at any point in time. 

People of God, it doesn't matter what the issue is, there is a God on the throne. That is why He is God, He specialises on dealing with issues that have been deemed impossible.

Why should I go on holding unto God, Pastor? Here is why

1. God knows your beginning
The first reason why you should keep holding unto God against all odds is that nobody knows you beginning except God.

God knows you. He knows your inward parts.

"The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly."  (Pro 20:27, KJV)

God knows your inward entrails, your physiology and psychology, your temperaments and dispositions, your strength and your weaknesses.

He knows who you are and what is best for you. He knows you like no man will ever know you. He does not only know your beginning, He knows your ending. He knows the spots in your life time and seasons when to carry and when to hold you by the hand. He knows the best man for you and the best helper in a wife. He knows the person that will further bring you into the reality of His purpose for your life. 



God knows you to the point of numbering your hairs! You are combing your head and one strand of hair falls? God knows whether it is the 1,908th hair strand or 77, 899, 6543rd hair strand!

That is how detailed God is over your life. The hairs on your head are numbered. Relax in God, He’s got you covered. Nobody can kill you before your time!

He set a table before me in the presence of my enemies! The enemies that are sitting by your table? Leave them, they are there to pack the plates after you are through! 

What other reasons?

2. You cannot help yourself
Listen to me, you cannot help yourself. You are not designed to help yourself. As a believer, you have never been configured to survive without God.

You will always need Him. Your configuration is such that you will always need the Holy Spirit in your life. Without Him, fatigue will soon set in! For that reason, many have slept and never woke up again!

Don't get offended at your maker.  Seek His help daily! He will always be there!


3. Men cannot help you by themselves
What other reason is there why you should hold on to God?

"

Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man."  (Psa 60:11, KJV)

Man’s help without God will still translate into frustration. Men that are used of God are the only ones that can truly help, so the baseline is to look unto God and never unto man.

You help comes for God! You remember that song?

"A Song of degrees. I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore."  (Psa 121:1-8, KJV)

4. His Word will never fail over you
Lastly, God’s word will never fail. His word will forever come to pass. I have learnt that over the years.

Now when God speaks, it would look like it would never happen. In fact, everything that happens will contradict that word. 

God will tell you that He is calling into the healing ministry and then you will fall ill. God will say you are a financial pillar in His house and then you go broke. God will say that you marriage will be a joyful experience, and then he broke up from you!

God, why?

Listen to me, whatever happens do not in any way affect or nullify the veracity and authenticity of God’s word.

Joseph passed through that lane. God told Him He would rule and then he became a slave and a prisoner! 

But you see, the prison was a pathway to the palace. Who could put up that kind of script? It is only God.

David passed through that lane. He was anointed King and then Saul started throwing javelins at him to end his life. 

But God wanted to let him see what can happen to a man whom the Spirit of God has departed from!

I can go on and on, but I will like to encourage you this morning, hold on to God’s word in your life. Something great will happen in your life in Jesus name!
